​I am a middle school civics teacher, democracy matters to me more than winning. You picking candidates that match your values matter more than me winning.

If you want to run yourself, below are the steps.
Complete the process below by Aug 7*.

Step 1: Go to the Registrar of Voters (1555 Berger Dr, San Jose) to "pull papers." You do not need
to have an appointment or any paperwork prepared prior to your first visit.
You'll be given the option to fill out the rest
of the filing digitally or by paper. 
Step 2: Complete paperwork by Aug 7* with your 200-word candidate statement being the most important portion. You'll be assigned a point person at the Registrar to make an appointment to return the paperwork. At this point, the candidate pays the filing fee of $200.**

*Since one incumbent is not running the filing is extended to Aug 12,
but you should still turn things in by Aug 7.
**The filling fee may be printed as higher but MVWSD has for a long time
been a model on creating inclusive elections by paying for all but $200.
You pay the $200, the district covers the rest of the filing fee.
